Disclaimer: this is a reading of @WrathOfGnon’s first substack post, “How to Build a Small Town in Texas.” The text is written wholly by that pseudonymous writer, with whom I do not have any kind of relationship other than sheer appreciation, and following on Twitter.
I’ve been a big fan of @WrathOfGnon for years. And was very excited to read his first long-form piece on his newly created Substack.
And as someone who spends a lot of time walking, I immediately pinged him to ask if there were plans to do an audio version of this, and future posts:
After a few DM’s back and forth, I decided to go ahead and record it myself (with his blessing of course). Nothing too professional - it was one take and done - but it should get the job done for someone that wants to spend a few minutes thinking about a very important issue: building communities that venerate the human spirit.
The recording is attached above.
I have offered to do the same for all future articles he publishes in this series, as a small way to contribute to creating communities of folks who are thinking about traditional architecture and community-building. Whether here on my substack or on his, stay tuned!
For those four anonymous and aspiring community-builders, I would love to chat and help with this undertaking. Our mutual connection can put us in touch.
For everybody else: Enjoy!
